The Pullman Greyhounds played their last game Thursday, February 4th at West Valley. The game was close for the first three quarters but the Hounds pulled away in the fourth quarter as they won 42-32. Anne Mari Petrino led the hounds in scoring with eight points, with Madi Mueller also contributing six. The Greyhounds improve to a record of 8-12 overall as West Valley falls to 5-15. The win allows Pullman to be the third seed and host a district game against the fourth seed Cheney, on February 9th. Come out and support your Hounds!
Hounds Take Down West Valley
On Saturday, January, 23, Pullman played West Valley. The Hounds defense came out strong in the first quarter keeping the Eagles at 3-12 after the first quarter. The Hounds let up in the second quarter as the Eagles scored 12 and the Hounds scored 8 making the score 15-20 Hounds at the half. The next two quarters were a battle to the end but the Eagles couldn’t make up the lead the Hounds had on them. The final score was 45-55 and the Hounds took yet another W from West Valley. Madi Muller was on her game with 23 points and 15 rebounds while, Anne Mari Petrino not only broke a girls ankles but also scored 12 points. Co Team Captain Becca Wickard said “It was a good game. We played well together as a team and our talk on defense was strong.”
The Pullman Greyhounds played their fifth league game Tuesday, January 19th, at Pullman. The game started out as a defensive game as Clarkston was up 8-5 at the end of the first quarter. The offenses for both teams got going for the rest of the game but Clarkston's was better as they ended up beating the Hounds 62-46. Maddi Mueller was the leading scorer for Pullman with 13 points. Sequoia Swan was the leading scorer for Clarkston with 17 points. Clarkston improves to a league record of 5-1 as Pullman drops to 1-5. The Hounds next game is an away game on Thursday at Cheney.
