This past weekend 4 athletes; Aron James, Cole Hawes, Adrian Thomas, and Mayyi Mahama competed in California. Hawes and Thomas went to the Tiger Invitational in South Pasadena. Hawes placed 9th in the high jump with a jump of 6'0. Thomas competed in the Rising Stars 110 and 300 hurdles, placing 3rd with a time of 16.17 for the former and ran a 44.46 to grab tenth in the latter. At the Arcadia Invitational, Aron James ran the 800m 1:59.26. Mayyi Mahama threw the discus, placing 10th with a throw of 139-9. She also threw the shot put 40-1.5.
TRACK- Pullman vs. West Valley
The Pullman track and field team had a mostly successfull meet last Wednesday, March 28. The Boys won by a substantial lead of 97-48. The boys dominated in their events especialy in the 400 meter where Aron James reached a new PR of 51.20, which puts in first place in the leauge ranks. Abdullah Islam was also able to finish in first place in the 200 with a PR of 23.80. As the meet came to an end the ran a competitive 4 by 400 relay where they were able to win by a narrow victory of 3:33.80 to 3:34.60, thus cementing the win for the boys. On the girls side, the meet didn't go quite by plan, as the women lost to an overall score of 83-67. Though it wasn't all bad news for Pullman. They were able to sweep in the triple jump, taking first, second, and third. Both Asha Campbell and Sarah Campbell obtained a new PR of 34-08.00 and 31-02.00 respectively. That put Asha Campbell 3rd in the school's history. Pullman was also able to sweep in Discus with Mayyi Mahama leading the pack with a throw of 135-11, which is her season best. Later in the meet Payton Teevens was able to score some point for the girls by finishing in first place in the 100 meter hurdles, dominating the rest of the heat with a time of 16.82 (also a new PR). Pullman gears ready for their next league duel at Cheney, where they hope to demonstrate their Athletic prowess as they take on the Black Hawks.

The Hounds went down to Lewiston, ID to compete in the Sweeney Invitational on Saturday, March 17th. Both the Boys and Girls placed 5th, the former scoring 67.5 points and the latter scoring 59 points. The Hounds compete in the first league meet of the season on Thursday, March 22, against the Clarkston Bantams at the Vollmer Bowl.
