Fresh off of 10 days of practice, the Pullman Greyhounds Boys' Soccer team will make the drive to Central Washington to play the Othello Huskies on Saturday for their season opener. With it being so early in the season, it's tough to make very many predictions regarding the game. However, out of conference games such as these are more about development and building team chemistry rather than winning and losing. With that being said, both these teams are very hungry to get into the winning column as soon as possible.
The Hounds are returning 13 players from last year's team, including three all league players in Moritz Lange, Justin Pintak, and Micah Lagerquist. New to the team this year are Liam Hines, Rachit Singh, and Mason Petrino who are accompanied by Zane Bickham and Will Pitzer, the two keepers who are still battling for the starting role. Due to an inadequate number of practices, seniors Jeremy Davidson and Moritz Lange will be ineligible for the game, however, both players will be cleared and ready to go for the GNL opener on tuesday against West Valley.
In this game last year, the Hounds were victorious in a nine round penalty shootout, eventually winning 1-0 (7-6).
