On Saturday, April 15th,the Pullman Greyhounds hosted West Valley for a double header at Quann field. In Game 1 Michael Peterson was given the start on the mound. Besides the 1st inning when, Michael had a shutout performance until the 7th inning when he had reached the pitch limit that would force him to exit the game. Payton Kallaher was then put in a tough position to close the game out. It was then that the West Valley Eagles made a late push and scored 3 to force the Greyhounds to a final at bats in the bottom of the 7th. The Greyhounds fought back and made it a one run ball game, but was unable to get the game tying run in. The Greyhounds had numerous mistakes, 4 errors which ultimatly was the deciding factor. In game 2 Spencer Walker got the start on the mound with Jeff Marlow coming into relief. It was a clean game with no errors coming from either team. West Valley had a go ahead 2 run inning in the 6th. The Greyhounds again had to fight back and try to win the ball game in the bottom of 7th. Down by 2, the Greyhounds had the bases loaded with 1 out, but was only able to get 1 run in, ultimatly losing by one with the game tying run on base again. The game resulted in the West Valley Eagles to be 1st in leauge, with a record of 5-2, and the Greyhounds dropping to be tied 2nd in leauge with a record of 3-2. The Greyhounds will look to bounce back from the tough losses, as they will travel to East Valley on April 18th. Go Hounds!
