State Results

The Pullman Greyhound Swim placed 8th overall at the 2A State Swim meet. Freshman Mya Reed set a new school record with a time of 53.74 in the 100 free, leading her to be seated 5th overall. Reed also took 4th overall in the 50 free. Freshman Melrose Gilbert took 4th overall in the 200 free and she placed 7th in the 500 free. Mya Reed, Melrose Gilbert, Madison Weber, and Nancy Yang led the hounds to 6th overall in the 200 free relay and took 8th overall in the 400 free relay. In conclusion, the Hounds performed well at state and hope to contiue next year.

Off To State

The Girls' Swim hosted Districts at Gibb Pool on Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th. The Hounds ended their league season by winning districts. In addition, one of the Hound Swimmers, Freshman Mya Reed, took swimmer of the meet, winning both of her individual events that included the 100 freestyle, receiving a time of 55.06 and 50 freestyle with a time of 24.91. In total, there will be three girls heading to State for an individual race that includes Mya Reed, Freshman Melrose Gilbert placing 2nd in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:42.94, and Senior Nancy Yang placing 1st in the 200 IM with a time of 2:24.89. Natalie Armstrong, Madison Weber, Melrose Gilbert, and Mya Reed raced the 200 Medley relay, placing 2nd with a time of 2:00.45, in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Madison Weber, Nancy Yang, Melrose Gilbert and Mya Reed took 1st with a time of 1:45.83 and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Nancy Yang, Natalie Armstrong, Elsie Lupkes, and Whitney Heusser placed 3rd making a time of 4:10.70. All three relays made State times. The Hounds will travel to King County Aquatics Center Pool for State on November 9th and 10th. 
 

The Girls Swim Off to Districts

The Girls' Swim Team headed down to Selah in Yakima for their second to last league meet on Thursday, October 18th, and won 118-52. The team won all three relays and seven out of eight individual events, leaving the Hounds 6-0. Freshman Melrose Gilbert qualified for the state meet in the 500 with a time of 5:42.7. 

The Girls headed to Cheney quickly after the Selah meet on Saturday, October 20th for their final dual meet of the season. This was the 
biggest meet this season for the Hounds, as they won 89-67. This leaves them 7-0 with an undefeated season taking in the title of league champs. Next up for the Hounds is Districts on October 26th for prelims, and the following day finals take place up at the Gibb pool in Pullman.
