The Greyhound Girls Soccer team had their last home game of the season against the Clarkston Bantams. Not only was it the Greyhounds' last home game, it was also their senior night. Coming into the game without a league win, Pullman was filled with energy and ready to reclaim their home turf. They started off very strong with most of the game being played on Clarkston’s defending end of the field. Freshman Elise French scored the first goal of the game, off of an assist by Senior Brenna Utzman in the 26th minute. They were able to hold the lead throughout the rest of the first half. In the second half, Pullman continued to control the game with their strong offense. In the 44th minute, Senior Brooke Whitehead scored her first career goal, from a corner kick sent by Freshman Audrey Pitzer, making the final score 2-0. The Greyhounds finally broke an 11-game losing streak against the Clarkston Bantams, as well as scoring their first goals in over a month of league play. In all, Pullman had 10 shots on goal and their keeper, Senior Jocelyn Gross had five saves, while Clarkston had only eight shots and six saves.
Congratulations to the six seniors Brenna Utzman, Jocelyn Gross, Jordyn Wolsborn, Emily Harris, Brooke Whitehead, and Sofie Cox on their final home win.
The Greyhound girls will compete at their first game of the districts playoffs, Thursday, October 25th, against second in the league, Cheney.
