Despite Sluggish Start Greyhounds Pull Out The Win
Written by Grady Benton
On Friday, September 29th, The WSU Vs. USC game wasn't the only buzz on the palouse. The Pullman Greyhounds opened up GNL play as they traveled down to Clarkston. The Greyhounds coming off of a 2016 undefeated league season, look to repeat that success as they took on the Bantams. With a reputation of starting opening games on a hot streak, the start of the game was unusal. The first eight offensive snaps resulted in as such, three fumbles, three turnovers, two penalties, and one safety coming off of a high snap into the endzone. Despite playing a sloppy game and commiting a total of 6 Fumbles, The Greyhounds found a way and came out victorious with a score of 21-16. Seniors Jared Holstad and Kaden Hildenbrand lead the way with scoring, as Hildenbrand scored a pair of touchdowns. It looks like it will be no easy task for the Greyhounds to repeat as league champs, as year after year the league is always competitive. The Greyhounds will look to continue their win streak as they will host The West Valley Eagles for their Homecoming Game on Friday, October 6th.
