Hounds Dismantle Knights, Advance To Crossover Game
It was all about heart on Friday Night. The Pullman Greyhounds hosted The East Valley Knights in a win or go home game on October 27th. With both teams coming in with a 2-1 league record this was a huge game for The Greyhounds. Senior Night couldn't have been any sweeter for The Hounds. With Washington State WR commit Rodrick Fisher out with a knee injury, The Greyhounds took advantage. As the whistle blew, so did The Greyhounds. Senior Quarterback TJ Newman started the scoring with a Six Yard Touchdown run to put them to a 7-0 advantage. The scoring did not stop there as the following possession; Senior Running Back Jed Byers ran for a 77-yard Touchdown. The Greyhounds would end up with a 28-0 lead after the first quarter of play. With a 35-point lead midway through the 2nd quarter, Junior Jake Wells aired a long ball to Sophomore Isaiah Strong for an 83 yard passing Touchdown. It was one of the only two passes that the Greyhounds threw on the night. The Greyhounds totaled 363 rushing yards, and 100 yards of passing. With the shot of the cannon at the end of a remember able Senior Night, The Greyhounds knew that their season was not over. With 15 seniors, this was defiantly a night to commemorate and celebrate as they will advance to the regional crossover game. The Pullman Greyhounds will travel to Grandview to take on Prosser in a game that will determine who goes to state, and who's season will be over.
