Wednesday race against East Valley was full of energy. The Pullman Boys had a three way tie for league last year, this time they were looking to claim the league title just for themselves for the first time since 1973. The Pullman boys knew it would be a hard fought race, especially with running on an entirely new course with a much feared hill called “big bertha”. The JV boys started the day off with three East Valley boys finishing before the first Pullman runner (Asher Cousins, 18:32.8). Unfortunately, the JV boys found their first loss of the season to East Valley losing 23-34.
Next were the girls, looking to win their second league meet this year. Jenna Herzog and Charity Cordova both raced very strongly getting under twenty-one minutes. The two Pullman girls both finished before East Valley’s first girl.
Then came the big race, the Varsity Boys. Pullman was expected to win this meet, but anything could happen especially with East Valley having Hunter Reynolds the number one runner in the GNL. The front group consisting of Hunter Reynolds, Eliason Kabasenche, Roman Romanyuk, and Patrick Nairimo were together for the first two miles. The pack eventually separated leaving Kabasenche and Reynold to fight it out in the sprint. Unfortunately, Reynolds out-kicked Kabasenche finishing with a time of 16:22.6. even with Reynolds winning the meet Pullman managed to get three in front of East Valley’s number two runner. Pullman dominated the meet winning 22-36.
